The only movie I've watched so far in Aussie theaters is Duplicity, and it's pretty good. Very Ocean's 11, so intelligent. The tagline on the movie posters caught our attention...
"She's ex-CIA, he's ex-M16, together they're out to steal a fortune."
...and we decided to sacrifice some money and watch it. And I liked it. Very much. Kept me at the edge of my seat yes it did.
Anyway, here are the current movies I want to watch:

I bet Eric's psyched for this one as well, I trust he's been reading the book he's bought. I on the other hand started reading it before I came here, and I just got back into it because my housemate Shiyana has it and lent it to me (SHE LENT ME DIGITAL FORTRESS TOO, WOOT DAN BROWN FTW!). Anyway The Da Vinci Code was, in my opinion, already a pretty damn good book, one I couldn't pull my nose out of. And I heard from Shiyana and Jennifer (whose opinion I trust very much) that Angels and Demons is much better. I AM ABSOLUTELY STOKED FOR THIS. Now I'm gonna try my best to finish reading it before the movie is released here on May 9th...after I'm done with the Diary of Anne Frank (been meaning to read this ever since I watched Jennifer Garner in Freedom Writers).

I am really looking forward to this movie. Despite the fact that I think the past three X-Men movies were sucky as hell. I have already warmed up to Hugh Jackman being cast as Wolverine (he's tall and pretty hairy, Logan is supposed to be a short and much hairier bastard) because I think he's done a pretty good job so far. If any of the X-men trilogy movies sucked, it's not his fault, it's the writers'....and Halle Berry's.
Though it won't wash away the fact that I am already having my doubts for this Wolverine movie. So far my doubts are on how the characters look physically (which is nothing really serious right? I mean we all still pretty much love Gary Oldman as Sirius Black...right?). From the movie posters and trailers, Sabretooth is hairless (what the hell, he's supposed to be hairier than Wolverine!), Emma Frost who is supposed to be sexy with bouncy blonde hair, with a sexy white outfit with a flowy cape, piercing blue eyes with white lipstick, looked so plain in the trailer, with her blonde hair tied up in a ponytail (WTF) and in a tank top. D8 DID I MENTION SABRETOOTH IS HAIRLESS?! D8
AND MAVERICK IS KOREAN?! Since when?! He's blonde, and German!!! Oh well, hopefully this doesn't turn out to be another shit adaptation. At least there's Gambit in it. Let's see how well Taylor Kitsh puts on a Cajun accent in this one.

Fast and Furious (they like playing with them movie titles man). Hmmm, because I loved the previous three movies, because it's got the old cast, Vin Diesel, Paul Walker, Michelle Rodriguez and Jordana Brewster (I envy her, she's got the sexiest eyes) in it, and...because Greg Cipes will be in it. A small minor role. But I don't care, he's one of my favorite voice actors, I'll take whatever chance I can get to see him in a movie.

When I went to Melbourne, I insisted I brought my Mac (even though my mom told me not to), so that I could get some movies/series/anime from Timothy (and his housemate Kenneth lol).
So Tim passed me:

OMG I'M RELIVING THE MADNESS!! And just looking at this old picture takes me back...sigh *snickers at younger Hyde* Tim passed me Season 1 of That 70's Show! XD HELLO WISCONSIN!!!
And before I got to Adelaide, I got really obsessed with Ben 10 (I blame my cousin Leroy and Mandy's little brother Gerald), then I moved on to Ben 10: Alien Force.
YAY NEW SERIES GEARED TO OLDER AUDIENCE SO NOT SO KIDDY ANYMORE LOL. Shut up, I don't care if you think that adults should grow up and stop watching cartoons. You can still be an adult and a kid at the same time, and if you decide to throw your childhood away and not appreciate it, you'll grow up a crotchety old person and will never ever know what it feels like to ever be a kid again! I mean.....I have friends who grew up not knowing the Power Rangers, and that Kimberley was together with Tommy, WHAT KINDA WEIRDOS ARE YOU?!
Ahem, got carried away. No offense to anyone who didn't like the Power Rangers, you'll never know what you missed. Anyway, the Alien Force episodes on Cartoon Network Asia were only just premiering, so I only managed to get into the whole hype really late. And by the time I got to Aussie, I had only 5 episodes. That is until Timothy passed me the whole of Season 1. >8D
And this is what I got off Jay's external hard drive.
SCORE. I've been meaning to download this for the longest time. An X-Men fan like me? NOT download this? Pfft. As if. Oh yeah, *points at lady in white* THAT'S what Emma Frost is supposed to look like. Aw but this picture left out two other members of the new X-men under Wolverine's leadership: Warren (Angel) and Bobby (Iceman). Two of my favorite American voice actors are in this series: Steven Blum (Wolverine, and also Cowboy Bebop's Spike Spiegel and Ben 10's Heatblast) and Yuri Lowenthal (Iceman, also Ben 10 Alien Force's Ben Tennyson and Naruto's Sasuke Uchiha).

Also, I've been watching a lot of anime recently, because I have recently gotten back into the whole anime thing since Gurren Lagann last year. I managed to get Code Geass and Code Geass R2 from Tim, and I gotta tell ya, it's one of the most epic things I've ever watched.
Code Geass: Lelouch of the Rebellion. Now, those of you who actually pay attention to my anime rambling, those of you who are my anime friends, you probably would have noticed me refusing to watch this anime before. I have many times compared it to Gundam SEED, which I didn't bother to watch past episode 10 cos' it bored me shitless, and I have totally denied its existence because I was never a fan of mecha (robot) anime. I knew it was done by the same people who did Gundam SEED so I didn't give it the benefit of the doubt. I thought the characters looked too feminine for my tastes (again like Gundam SEED). I even made fun of it by calling it Code GAY-ASS (I still call it that though). I decided to give it a chance because Tim said it was good, and I knew Cappy was a huge fan of it, and well....she's got pretty good taste. AND I FOUND OUT THAT THE CHARACTER DESIGNS WERE DONE BY CLAMP. CLAMP was one of my favorite manga/anime artist groups ever. They are the ones who inspired me most times to do what I love doing, and that is drawing. And that won me over.
What is it about? Basically how one young man starts up an army of rebels to free the country of Japan from the clutches of the Britannian empire. TRUST ME. It's a lot more complicated, serious, intriguing than I make it sound. I MARATHONNED THIS FOR THREE NIGHTS STRAIGHT. I slept at 6am one night because of this, and here I am after just watching episode one of season 2 and it's nearing 3am. It's THAT good. What's in it? Tyranny, racial and class conflict, government and economical collapse and corruption; people have described the main protagonist Lelouch as "A rebel with a cause, but without conscience." The contradiction in that sentence alone suffices for a great anime. Since I had just immersed myself into the world of politics due to my International Studies course, I find this utterly intriguing and amusing at the same time. Carlos Santos of Anime News Network said that the theme of the anime...
"...reflects the malaise of a generation: the realization that old, rich, powerful people have screwed up the world and that the young are helpless to do anything about it".
Then there's Vampire Knight.

Like Ben 10 Alien Force, I had only gotten like 5 episodes, before coming to Adelaide. Tim's housemate Kenneth passed me the whole of season 1. After finishing it, I'm like "WTF?!" I need to see season 2. It's not as engaging or as epic as Code Geass, but it's a pretty enticing story. OH DID I MENTION IT'S ABOUT VAMPIRES? And that it MAKES BETTER SENSE OF THE VAMPIRE/HUMAN LOVE STORY THAN TWILIGHT EVER DID? Gawd. Bella's such a Mary-Sue (look it up), can I kill her?
I've gotten other stuff from Tim like movies, and Devil May Cry the anime. I haven't watched them yet, so I can't really give much comment, but oh well.
Wow with this post I've been to many levels of geek, movie geek, comic book geek, cartoon geek, TV series geek, and anime geek. HOW MUCH GEEKIER CAN I GET?
Sorry for boring all of you.

6 cracks:
I LOVE LOVE LOVE VAMPIRE KNIGHT!! If you want to read more about vampire knight, their mangas are at www.onemanga.com! And i love their opening song. I watched season 2 at crunchyroll, but it was licensed soon after. There are actually many sites where you can watch from streaming online!
I thought you were waiting for Star Trek as well? That Sylar guy is in right?
Ps. I'm watching it in some special screening this Friday! ;) Though I don't even like it, just thought I'll let you know! :)
DON'T WORRY HUN, WE ARE ON THE SAME LEVELS OF GEEKHOOD!! 8DDDDb Dunno if this is a good thing or not, but HAY YOU'RE NOT ALONE!! XD
And the fact that you're getting into Code Geass too has me rolling around and gurgling in delight. XD THE AWESOMENESS IS SPREADING, MUAHAHAHA. XDDDDD AND IT'S PERFECTLY FINE TO REFER TO IT AS CODE GAY-ASS BECAUSE Y'KNOW. Lelouch is totally the fandom bicycle, everyone rides him. 8DDDD
I understand on how the first season was kinda boring -- I also didn't get past ep15 until much, much later when everyone was making a big deal about R2 and I forced myself to watch just to see what the fuss was all about. =P
To be honest, one of the main reasons I'm into CG so much is because of Lelouch. XD He's such a fascinating character! He has a shrewd, cruel, megalomaniacal side, but when it comes to his sister and his closest friends, he can be surprisingly tender and protective. Plus, he's totally bishie, which always wins points in my books, ahahahah! XDb
And thanks for the compliment, I don't think many people share my taste in animes, but I'm glad we both appreciate the same series! ^_^ GREAT MINDS THINK ALIKE. AND ARE INTO THE SAME ANIMES. *high fives*
I desperately want to watch Ben 10 Alien Force now. DDD8 WAT TO DOOO~
I also can't wait for the X-Men movie! BUT IF THEY SCREW UP MY GAMBIT I WILL SUCKA PUNCH SOMETHING. >__< Gambit from the X-Men animated series was one of my childhood fictional crushes (I totally shipped him with Rogue before I even knew what shipping was XD), and I'm kinda overprotective over mah Gambit. XD
I ALSO MUST CALL YOUR ATTENTION TO THIS POST ON MY JOURNAL. 8DDD *evil cackling*
Manda> It's awesome innit? I couldn't get season 2 cos' Tim's housemate Kenny didn't have it (he didn't know there was Season 2, until I told him, he was prolly throwing a fit about it. I don't like to watch online because my line is unstable... T_T But I can try and download them in Uni on Rapidshare.
Jacqkie> OH YEAH!!! YOU JUST REMINDED ME!!! And lucky you!! I have to pay AUD12 to watch!! (AUD15 if I go to Norwood)
Cappy> Eee eee panjangnyerr comment. I'm into CG because of Lelouch as well. He is a genius. I haven't seen this much genius since Death Note (and Death Note didn't compel me enough to actually finish the whole series). Also I think the story is pretty cool, I just got into politics remember? And.... I don't think Season 1 was boring at all. O_o
"Lelouch is the fandom bicycle, everyone rides him." WTF.
OH...if I have time and money at the end of the year, I might do a CG cosplay along with my Gurren Lagann. I checked the CG cosplay group at CF Forums, and Lelouch is still open. >8D
And X-Men was.....I'll explain in my next blog entry.
Woah??!! (o____o''')...RM 30 for a movie ticket?? Back home...it wouldn't even be this expensive....unless you have a really really big group of friends...say 10-11 people??...Come to think of it...my once-in-a-while...cinema trips would only cost us less than RM 20....excluding popcorn and snacks....anyway.....'Angels and demons' should be very intresting....judging from the movie trailer....the prequel from the 'Da Vinci Code'....this time more about a secret society out for revenge towards the Vatican priests....they even have Ewan Mc Greggor as one casts...really looking forward to it....besides this...someone should have an idea...of making a 'That's 70's show movie' since it reached about 8 seasons in total.....the jokes are really hillarious....with life in the 70's...., 'Wolverine and the X men' is another animation which i'm looking forward too....after 'Hulk Vs'...Marvel has came up with tons of animations as compared to DC....whose only animations focus on.....either Superman, Batman and i think the recent....Wonder women....oh well great movies coming really soon....there's still loads more.....
Hi I'm just someone passing by cos I'm a mad fan of both Code Geass + Vampire Knight!! Thank you for the lovely review and everything cos I'm so happy to finally hear about someone who likes both anime series (if you like Kuroshitsuji as well then life would be a miracle)!!
(Can you tell not many ppl around me are into anime?? Sad...)
