I used to say "I can't cook for nuts." NOT ANYMORE!! >8D

Yes, I have started cooking! XD I didn't cook back home, because my maid and my dad take pride in cooking for us haha (and if they let us cook we'd prolly ruin dinner for the rest of the family). Let me show you some of the stuff I cooked that I took pretty pictures of, from the simplest to most complicated dish.

1) Hot Chocolate

Lolz, you're probably going "What the hell?!". Hey this isn't Milo and I don't have one of those fancy milk skimming machines, I actually have to boil milk for this. I have a cup of hot chocolate whenever I feel like it (usually on cold nights or evenings). I usually don't have marshmallows in my hot chocolate, but I saw a bag of Easter marshmallows on sale at Foodland for AUD1.99 so I decided to get them (which explains why I have a bunny and a ducky floating around in my chocolate).

2) Tom Yum Maggie Mee.

I make Maggie Mee look complicated lol. No it's not, actually, I just added browned minced beef and boiled potatoes and carrots to my noodles. The parsley was just to add flavor and make it look pretty.>8D I wanted vegetables in it so...

3) French Omelette

I like the deep fried omelettes that we usually eat back home, but they're usually drowning in oil. So I opted for the French Omelette, which traditionally uses butter instead of oil. I know it's fattening, but it really gives a nice creamy buttery fragrance to the omelette (and it's not so jelak as being drowned in oil). It's also a little tricky when you're frying it, cos' I need to make sure I stop before the whole omelette sets, and is still creamy and shiny (in other words, not too cooked).

4) Fusilli Pasta Bolognese

Ah the simple Bolognese Fusilli, nothing much to say about this other than the fact that I added Ikea meatballs and chopped carrots and button mushrooms to the sauce while cooking. Oh and I had pineapple juice with it the night I took this picture. I think I was also watching The Biggest Loser on TV while eating this.

5) Vichy Carrots

Why do the French have to make the simplest of dishes seem so complicated?! O_o I misestimated the amount of butter, so while waiting for the liquid to finish seeping into the carrots, I seemed to have overcooked the carrots XP. But you know what, in the end, it still tasted great! Just a little mushy.

6) Cheese and Bacon Risotto with Meatballs

Made from Arborio rice! Is what it's said on the box. 8D This is my first time making or eating Risotto and it felt strange eating 'Italian rice'....with CHEESE! D8 I think I know where all the Hongkies got the idea of making cheese-baked rice for their fusion food restaurants. They had a little recipe on the back of the box, I followed it, but I changed it haha. Instead of using red and green peppers, I used broccoli and cauliflower, instead of using chicken breast, I used Ikea meatballs and minced beef, and added mushrooms and sweet corn kernels.

7) Spinach and Ricotta with Garlic and Sour Cream baked with Fusilli and Potatoes

I gotta start using my Angelhair pasta, because I keep using my Fusilli. O_o This was one of the most delicious things I cooked so far. Chopped boiled potatoes plus Fusilli in a tray, then topped with sauce plus mushrooms, then popped into the oven and baked for 15 minutes. SO GOOD. D8 BUT SO FATTENING.

Now, for some extra pictures!

This is Cibo's caffe latte (on the left) and skim cappuccino. Like my mom said, the Australians and Italians see making coffee as not just a ways to make money but also as an art. That is why there are no Starbucks in Adelaide.

These are the pretty cupcakes from Cocolat, a coffee house specializing in a variety of chocolate drinks, chocolates, pastries and snacks. They're expensive though, these cupcakes, they go for about AUD4.50 a piece, equalling to about RM50 for 4 cuppies.

Also......

Meet my new friend, Lagann. I bought him for AUD11.90. I was hoping to get Kamina or Simon, but when I opened the box, Lagann popped out instead. Now I'm in love with the little guy. And he brings me luck when I'm playing Monopoly with Yuen, Jay, Thomas, Kien and Rachel.

Why is he hiding in an empty box of Pocky?

It seems he is hunting.

He caught me a nice ducky and rabbit for my Hot Chocolate, well done Lagann~! XD WTF I got bored, so sue me!

In other news:

1) My housemate Shiyana came back today, you should imagine my shock when I woke up this morning, walked out of my room and nearly stumbled over a giant suitcase. I walked back into my room immediately so it could register in my brain that she had came back from her home country. I was creeped out for about 5 seconds, because yesterday I was watching "Crimes that shocked the world" and "Beyond the Darklands" last week, and they were covering the BTK murder of Wichita and William Matheson the psychopath murderer. Why do I creep myself out this way?

2) I am going to Melbourne for Easter hols, will be visiting Aunt Veron and will be staying at Timothy's place. Hoping to see the Great Ocean Road. Will celebrate Yuen's birthday with her in Melbourne, whee~!

3) Had a nice Korean barbeque getting-to-know-each-other dinner with the usual neighbors, Jay, Yuen, Kien, Sherry, Rachel, Deborah, David and the ones we just got acquainted to, Sheena and Naveena

4) Discovered that one of our lecturers is a sarcastic douche. But it's pretty cool in a way, like Miss Gayatri back in Taylor's. Only she's much nicer, and her sarcasm doesn't poke people in places that shouldn't be poked....Oh and she's definitely not a douche.
